What to Expect

Here is what to expect leading up to your first visit. Please arrive a few minutes early for your first visit.

Before You Arrive

After booking, you will receive an email with a link to complete your intake and consent forms through your patient portal.

Please fill these out before your appointment — it helps us prepare for your session before you walk through the door.

What to Wear
& Bring

Wear clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated. For upper body treatment, a tank top or sleeveless shirt is ideal. For hip, knee, or lower body treatment, athletic shorts work best. Leggings, jeans, or restrictive clothing may limit the care we can provide.

What to Expect Inside

Championship Institution runs a multi-patient model, meaning we work with multiple patients simultaneously.

Your session lasts approximately one hour, and every treatment is tailored entirely to what your body needs that day.

  • "Murph literally keeps me functional. Highly recommend. Murph is magic." - Amy H.

Murph literally keeps me functional. I see him weekly for soft tissue work and shockwave.

I started seeing him a few years ago, before my knee replacement, to strengthen my leg before surgery. Then I saw him post-surgery for knee rehab. He helped me get all my range of motion back and got me back to hiking again.

Highly recommend. I often say Murph is magic.

  • "Murph is the single biggest reason I can still compete on the tennis court and live without limitations." - Sean O.

I have worked with Chris Murphy ("Murph") through multiple surgeries, injuries, and the everyday wear and tear of staying active, and he is the single biggest reason I can still compete on the tennis court, not to mention navigate life without limitations. Murph does not just fix the problem; he teaches you why it happened and gives you tools to help prevent it from coming back.

If you want someone who cares about your long-term health and not just a quick fix, Murph is the one to see. I would not be playing the sport I love without him.

  • "Murph is top tier. He truly cares and has my body's best interests in mind." - Evan H.

After spending months seeing traditional physical therapists for injuries I was dealing with, I decided to work with Murph. In just two sessions, I made more progress than I had during months of conventional physical therapy.

Murph takes the time to understand what is actually causing the issue rather than simply treating the symptoms. He consistently helps speed up my recovery and get me back to 100%.

I would highly recommend Murph to anyone dealing with an injury, trying to improve their performance, or looking for a more personalized and effective approach to recovery.

Chris Murphy

ATC, LAT

Chris Murphy standing inside his athletic training clinic, Championship Institution, in Tucson, Arizona.

I’m Chris Murphy, a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC, LAT) with over 20 years of experience helping athletes and individuals recover, perform, and return to doing what they love. I’m a Tucson native and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Science at Northern Arizona University.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked with athletes at every level, from youth and high school competitors to collegiate and professional athletes, including time with Pima Community College, Arizona Western College, Walden Grove High School, and the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.

But the experience that has shaped how I treat clients wasn’t professional; it was personal.

My collegiate soccer career ended after a devastating series of ACL injuries. In just nine months, I tore my ACL three times, underwent two ACL reconstructions, endured two post-surgical infections, and required multiple additional surgeries.

I know firsthand what it takes to face an injury, commit to the rehab process, recover from surgery, and keep going when setbacks happen. My journey has given me a unique perspective that shapes how I care for clients. My goal is to help every person who walks through my door feel supported, understood, and confident in the path ahead.
